Michelle Obama releases hip-hop album

The First Lady will release an album called Songs for a Healthier America featuring singers Jordin Sparks, Ashanti and DMC as part of her campaign to promote healthy eating.

Michelle Obama made the cameo appearance in the music video for Everybody where she talks about launching her Let’s Move anti-childhood obesity campaign and tackling people’s doubts about whether it would make a difference.

Everybody, the first song on the 19-track album, features rapper Doug E Fresh and singer Jordin Sparks. Other songs include Veggie Luv and U R What You Eat.

The album is being produced by Hip Hop Public Health and the Partnership for a Healthier America, and will be released as a free download on Sept 30.
