Samsung Galaxy Round: Samsung launch smartphone with curved 5.7-inch screen [Full Details]
Eyes and Voice can now tell you that Samsung the world’s best-selling smartphone maker, and has launched a new smartphone with a curved display screen.
Samsung has called it the “Galaxy Round” – going with their Galaxy range and the smartphone will feature a 5.7 – inch (14.5cm) screen display, Eyes and Voice has learned.
The ‘Samsung Galaxy Round’ is the world’s first commercialized full HD Super AMOLED flexible curved display phone. It is 7.9mm in depth and weighs 154 grams.
It has a 13 megapixel camera, 2.3 Ghz quad core processor, Android 4.3 and comes with 4G connectivity.
Experts believe the ‘Galaxy Round’ is a step towards the world being introduced to wearable and flexible devices and even unbreakable displays/screens.
Digital display technology has been progressing towards curved screens. Both Samsung and LG has already offer curved organic light-emitting diode (OLED) television sets.
It has also been said that Samsung did not yet have capacity for large-scale production of curved touch-screens for the new Galaxy Round.
Eyes and Voice has learnt that the phone’s key feature is its “roll effect”, a tilt function that allows users to roll the phone to check information like missed calls, battery life and other notifications, even when the screen is off.
“Galaxy Round” will feature:

- 3GB RAM
- 13MP camera
- 2,800mAh battery
- 7.9mm thick, 154g

The phone’s spec is solid: 5.7-inch OLED screen2.3GHz quad core processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB storage and a 2800mAh battery, Eyes and Voice learned.
As of now, ‘Galaxy Round’ will only be available in Korea, through South Korea’s biggest mobile carrier, SK Telecom Co Ltd, and it will cost 1.089 million won (£630). The phone will go on sale in Korea tomorrow – 10th October, Eyes and Voice has learned.
