Apollo Theatre Collapse In London, More than 80 people in hospital

Part of a ceiling in a packed London theatre collapsed leaving more than 80 people injuries and 7 (seven) seriously injured, Eyes and Voice learned.

Last night, about 720 people were watching “The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-time”, which was mid-way through a performance when part of a balcony collapsed on top of the theatre-goers leaving seven (7) people seriously injured and over 80 people hurt

The full house production was in the Apollo theatre in London’s West End.

The Audience were trapped down after part of the ceiling collapsed on them. Some of he eyes witnesses said they thought it was part of the play.

“We thought it was part of the play. But the ceiling was crumbling. Within an instant the whole roof seemed to come down.

“We saw a lot of people completely covered in dust – I could hardly breathe.”

According o reports, A pregnant woman was among the audience but she was lucky to escape from the upper circle when the ceiling collapsed.

A Play goers said: “It was frightening. We were about halfway through the first half of the show when there was a huge noise and then a sheet of dust obscuring our view. It was very scary.”

Another woman who was in the audience with her family stated that: “The entire dome roof fell down on the audience just in front of us. We were protected by the balcony above and we ran. People started screaming.

“We thought it was water… We thought it was a part of the show. I grabbed my kids and ran.” – said Amy Lecoz

Within a short period of time, it as all panic and chaos and every one of the audience was running outside and screaming for help.

London Fire Brigade sent eight fire appliances, sealing off the world-famous theatre street. Eyes and Voice learned that, that the police was called to the theatre in Shaftesbury Avenue shortly after 8.15pm.

A spokesman said four people were seriously injured and there were 81 walking wounded.

It is not yet clear what caused the collapsed but everyone that was hurt and seriously wounded have been taking to the hospital.
