Luton Town F.C Champions of 2014 and the celebration kicks off – First, was the open bus parade that toured the town, then the reception at the town centre.

For your pleasure, was there to cover the event.

At St George’s Square (the town centre), all you could see was Orange and White; jerseys and flags flying.

Thousands of fans and by standers cheering, happy people! It was a sight to remember.

The team travelled on the bus from the Kenilworth Road stadium where the parade began to St George’s Square in the town centre.

With all the music, entertainments and excitement going on, I can tell you more Luton residents is more likely to become a fan and will be proud to call themselves a HATTERS supporter – with the negative previous results and records you can not blame them for not being fans until now.

We all are fans now! All that’s left is for someone to get me one of those Orange and White jersey (that will be nice). And we hope for more trophies, promotions and celebrations like this.

Luton Town players and fans

About 12 to 16, 000 fans packed into St George’s Square in Luton to cheer the players on the main stage. Club captain Ronnie Henry said:

“There’s a lot of people here today and we need to enjoy it because [these days] don’t come very often.”

Also speaking to reporters, Gary Sweet the club managing director said the day was a “celebration of heroes”.

This promotion party came five years after the club was relegated to the Football Conference Premier League after the 2008/9 season.

“Luton is on the up in so many ways and we hope that our fantastic season on the pitch will heighten the feel-good factor in the town at the moment,” Hatters managing director Gary Sweet stated.

With 2014 still at its first half, I can tell you Luton has been having a very good and exciting year so far.

And we here at Eyes and Voice are hoping for more and we can’t wait for the annual Luton Carnival, which as we told you before, will be on May 25.
