Her music reflects influences from Soul and Blues, often played around the house growing up, most memorably James Brown, Jackie Wilson, Chaka Khan, B.B. King, and The Jackson Five.

It was after hearing Ben E King’s ‘Stand By Me‘ during a lesson at primary school, when a teacher put it on as a relaxation method for a bunch of “over hyperactive kids”, where Sophia fell in love with soul music. Other musical influences Include: Lauryn Hill, Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, Ray LaMontagne and Amy Winehouse.

Sophia Danesi has been featured on BBC Radio for Nesta McGregor and Iain Lee’s Morning Breakfast show and also performed for Tony Award winner and 4 times Grammy Nominee Melba Moore.

The incredibly talented singer and songwriter has just released an acoustic video to her song, ‘Crazy Blues’.

Crazy Blues‘ is a song about a love hate relationship that depicts the point of frustration and anguish.

The jazz/soul feel song see’s Sophia sing about being in a difficult relationship – singing about a man she can no longer “figure out”.

Some lyrics from the song states:

“He breaks me down, He shorts me out, and he stresses me, no doubt.

“He makes me cry, and I don’t know why, I just cant get him off my mind…” – Sophia sings.
