Ameriie Returns With New Single ‘What I Want’

Ameriie EV

Ameriie is back with new material after a lengthy absence from the music scene!

The song which is titled ‘What I Want‘ sees the Grammy nominee sample the classic ‘Apache‘ instrumental made famous by The Shadows, The Sugarhill Gang and later used on the TV sitcom ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air‘.

The up-tempo tracks sees her singing about being clear on what she truly wants in life, love and relationships.

As one of R&B’s most underrated artists, Ameriie (previously Amerie) has had mild success since debuting on the scene with ‘Why Don’t We Fall in Love‘ in 2002.

Her commercial peak came in 2005 with the release of her album ‘Touch‘ and the single ‘1 Thing‘ which was featured in the Will Smith movie ‘Hitch‘.

The song later became a top ten hit around the world and soon a variety of awards and recognition came her way.

Since then follow up albums ‘Because I Love It‘ and ‘In Love & War‘ have failed to match the previous success of her first two and have largely gone unnoticed in the U.S.

However her work has continued to be critically acclaimed and because of this she has built up a dedicated following.

So far the working title of her new LP is ‘Cymatika Vol. 1‘ and sees the singer exploring musical freedom in genres such as trance, electronica, house, new wave and of course her signature R&B sound.

No release date for the album has been given as of yet.
