Nigerian News: Wizkid’s new album is still on the works but will finally be out by July 24.
Afrobeat singer, Wizkid has set a date for the release of his much anticipated album. The over-due album should be out by July 24, a source told Eyes and Voice.
Our source close to Disturbing London, – the company that manages Wizkid in the UK, said:
“Wizkid is still working on new songs for the album,
“He’s got enough songs for at-least two albums, but as the expectation from his fan are very high, he is now working very hard for new music.”
“His fans want him [wizkid] to give them this big hit song, but it’s not that easy anymore.
“The game has change very much now. There’s Davido and many more young guys blowing up the scene now, there’s more competition for wiz [wizkid] now.”
With unrest at the starboy and EME camp about the album, Wizkid has turned to his international record label, Konvit Music to help with making new songs and collaboration for the forthcoming album, ‘Chosen’.
Wizkid whose real name is Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, recently jetted to LA to record more songs and collaborations in hope to meet his fans expectation.
Looking at recent pictures on Instagram and Twitter, you can see the ‘Don’t Dull’ singer with the likes of Chris Brown, Tyga, Akon, Big Sean and more.
Hopefully these pictures will help keep his fans’ waiting alive…
The 23-year-old singer rose to fame with his award winning song, ‘Holla at Your Boy’, he has also gone to release other big song like ‘Caro’ and a very successful album ‘Superstar’.
With his success, Wizkid went on to sign an International record label deal with Akon’s Konvit Music and a UK management deal with UK rapper, Tinie Tempha‘s Disturbing London imprint.
After a shaky relationship with his original Nigerian label ‘EME‘ (Empire Mates Entertainment), Wizkid formed his record label, Starboy Entertaiment.
Source told Eyes and Voice about the upcoming album: “Expect big, surprise collaborations,
“Wizkid is really doing his best and expect the album by July 24… And big songs, that’s all I can tell you for now.”
