IN PICTURES: Prince George’s first Birthday and family requests: ‘don’t send gifts’.
Today, Tuesday, 22 July (2014) marks the first birthday of Prince George.
For the celebration, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (Kate and William) are thanking well-wishers and have also released two new official pictures of the third in line to the throne.
One of the pictures, shows Prince George with his mother and father focused on a butterfly, while the second shows the family looking above their heads.
In a statement thanking well wishers on their son’s birthday, the Duke and Duchess said:
“We would like to take this opportunity on George’s first birthday to thank everyone over the last year, wherever we have met them, both at home and overseas, for their warm and generous good wishes to George and our family.”
Prince George’s first birthday: don’t send gifts for the future king
Eyes and Voice learned, although William and Kate are very happy with the “warm and generous good wishes” from everyone, the parents has insisted that they do not want gifts from the public.
This picture (above) was earlier released as Prince George is shown at the Sensational Butterflies outdoor exhibition at London’s Natural History Museum, for his pre-birthday outing.
The three official pictures released so far was taken by John Stillwell of the Association Press a few weeks ago.
Prince George Alexander Louis – known as His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge – was born on 22 July last year (2013).
The Duke and Duchess will today (22 July) hold a birthday party for the one-year-old prince at their Kensington Palace apartment.
