Mariah Carey & Jermaine Dupri Part Ways
One of the music industries longest partnerships has come to an end (for now) as Jermaine Dupri has confirmed reports that he is no longer Mariah Carey’s manager.
In a statement to Billboard he says,
“I’m a very hands-on person when it comes to my work, I put my all into every project. But when I’m not allowed to do what I do, then I know it’s time for me to move on. Mariah and I enjoy working together and will continue to make great music together in the future.”
This split comes as no surprise after Mariah’s latest album ‘Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse‘ became her lowest selling LP of all time.
Whilst Jermaine is behind some of Mariah’s biggest hits including ‘Always Be My Baby‘ and ‘We Belong Together‘, sometimes the same formula doesn’t work for every project.
Apparently Mariah is now being managed by Kevin Liles who looks after a wide range of artists including Trey Songz.
Regarding her latest album campaign, ‘You Don’t Know What to Do‘ featuring rapper Wale has been sent to radios and recently she teased tour plans to her fans.
