Last night on ‘The X Factor‘ Sir Bob Geldof premiered the reworked version of the charity single ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’

Geldof stressed the importance of this new campaign in helping support the Ebola crisis which he described as ”the most anti-human disease”.

“We can stop it, and we will stop it, and we will support those immensely brave 1,000 NHS workers, those young doctors and nurses who are going down there, those young soldiers… and the governments who are leading the world on this”.

He concluded by simply stating ”we’re going to stop this thing. Buy the song.

The beginning of the video also features a short clip of aiders tending towards a seriously ill woman. Bob included this to further demonstrate the importance of why the public should donate to this cause.

The single which has been released in the UK today (November 17) has had some of its famous lyrics reworked, most notably the line sung by Bono.

Band Aid 30’s all-star line up includes the likes of One Direction, Chris Martin, Rita Ora, Ellie Goulding, Sam Smith, Sinead O’Connor, Clean Bandit, Paloma Faith, Jessie Ware, Olly Murs and Emeli Sande.
