Britney Spears & Iggy Azalea Working On A Collaboration
Britney Spears is preparing for a pop comeback in 2015 and it has now been confirmed that she has been secretly working on a track with 2014 breakout star Iggy Azalea!
The rapper confirmed the news herself in an backstage interview with Kiss 108 at this years Jingle Ball saying,
“We have a song, which is going to be her first single, coming out next year,
“She said she would like to work with me in an interview and they reached out.
“We recorded a few different things and then one of those just ended up being, I think, undeniably great. Hopefully everybody will get to hear it at the beginning of next year.
“I think people are really going to love it and enjoy it. It’s a really fun track.”
Despite working on material Iggy mentions that the the two musicians have yet to meet each other,
“I still haven’t really got to have a conversation with her, so I’m hoping New Year’s will be the time I can get her in a corner.”
Iggy has already collaborated with a number of female artists this year including Charlie XCX, Ariana Grande, Rita Ora, Jennifer Hudson and Ellie Goulding. In the past Britney has only occasionally worked with fellow female singers, most notably with Madonna on ‘Me Against the Music‘ and on remix collaborations with Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Kesha. Last year she also featured on ‘SMS (Bangerz)‘ with fellow pop starlet Miley Cyrus.
It remains to be seen as to whether Britney and her team will follow through with this alleged lead single but after the underperformance of her eighth studio album ‘Britney Jean‘ in 2012 Britney needs to make quite an impression with whatever sound and image she brings musically in 2015.
In the meantime this news continues to prove that Iggy is now a force to be reckoned with in todays commercial music scene!
