Nicole Scherzinger Nominated For Olivier Award
It’s about time Nicole Scherzinger had some good news and I’m sure she’ll be pleased with this one!
Yesterday it was announced that she has been nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role in a Musical for her performance as Grizabella in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s West End revival of ‘Cats‘.
The Laurence Olivier Awards celebrate the best of London’s West End plays/musicals and are often seen as the UK equivalent of the Tony Awards (which honours Broadway).
Nicole had already received high critical acclaim for her twelve-week stint in the musical so the nomination comes as no real surprise.
She quickly took to social media to express her gratitude saying,
With Andrew Lloyd Webber already keen to see the musical return to Broadway one would think he would be crazy to not consider Nicole for a starring role on the New York stage???
While her theatre career seems to be thriving, sadly on the pop music front things are a different story. It seems like the ‘Big Fat Lie‘ campaign appears to be over (or put on hold) and a U.S. release doesn’t look likely to be happening any time soon.
Nevertheless with the talent and beauty that newly-single Nicole has I don’t think she will be scratching her head for too long regarding her next career move!
