Rihanna Wants New Album To Be ‘Timeless’

Rihanna Wants New Album To Be ‘Timeless’

Rihanna 2015 EV

There is so much speculation regarding Rihanna’s much delayed eighth studio album that we don’t know where to begin?

So far fans have been given ‘FourFiveSeconds‘ which has done well enough but not as well as past album launchers such as ‘Umbrella‘, ‘We Found Love‘ and ‘Diamonds‘.

Then theres her work on the soundtrack for the upcoming animated feature film ‘Home’. This project was initially rumoured to be a concept album by her but she now only features on three singles.

Regarding R8 it had been confirmed that Kanye West is Executive Producer for the LP and that a release date isn’t too far away…

Speaking to MTV this week about the project Rihanna discusses her thoughts on its progress saying,

“I wanted songs that I could perform in 15 years; I wanted an album that I could perform in 15 years”

“Not any songs that were burnt out. I find that when I get on stage now, I don’t want to perform a lot of my songs. They don’t feel like me. So I want to make songs that are timeless.”

I have to say its great to see Rihanna thinking this way.

While she has had monster success on the music charts over the last ten years, many of her tracks have been very of their time and been forgotten as music trends have evolved.

Plus tracks such as ‘S&M‘, ‘Birthday Cake‘ and ‘Pour It Up‘ aren’t exactly the singles any artist would want to perform once they reach a more mature age…

Since her debut in 2005 this is the longest the Rihanna Navy has had to wait for a new collection from her and with the secrecy regarding its material and release this might be Rihanna’s most anticipated and acclaimed work to date!

Rihanna is next scheduled to performed live at the 2015 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Sunday March 29th in Los Angeles.
