Zayn Malik Quits One Direction
Well it’s official folks!
After taking a leave of absence from the bands world tour last week due to stress, today Zayn Malik has confirmed that he has left the band for good.
From his official statement online he says that,
”My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined. But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band.”
”I’d like to apologise to the fans if I’ve let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart.”
He adds ”I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight”.
The rest of the statement declares that he has made four best mates for life and that he wishes the group the best of success for the future.

While it has been confirmed that Harry, Louis, Liam and Niall will continue on as a four-piece, it will be interesting to see the road that 1D will take from here?
This is a classic tale for all of pops mega groups. As evident from the likes of Take That, Spice Girls, S Club 7, Westlife and more once one member leaves things are never quite the same again (until the inevitably reunite…).
As of now the group remain adamant that things will remain the same and new music will follow, but only time will tell if One Direction Mania will be left intact regardless of the departure of one of their most popular members?
