Dave Goldberg, the Silicon Valley entrepreneur and SurveyMonkey Chief Executive, has died suddenly at the age of 47, his family says.

Goldberg, is the husband of Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg. Dave Goldberg was a former Yahoo executive before joining Surveymonkey in 2009. He lead the expansion of Surveymonkey to an evaluation of £1.3bn according to reports.

Goldberg’s brother, Robert announced the death of the 47-years-old on Facebook stating:

“It’s with incredible shock and sadness that I’m letting our friends and family know that my amazing brother, Dave Goldberg, beloved husband of Sheryl Sandberg, father of two wonderful children, and son of Paula Goldberg, passed away suddenly last night.”

Goldberg can be closely liked to his time at Yahoo, founding Silicon Valley, helping SurveyMonkey to acquire over 25 Million customers and Launch Media – a music/media company he started with a friend before selling it to Yahoo.
