Since becoming one of the biggest shows on television Lee Daniels’ ‘Empire‘ has a lot of hype to live up to ahead of its season 2 premiere this fall! So producers have wasted no time in lining up an impressive list of new guest stars.

FOX has confirmed that viewers can expect appearances from the likes of Chris Rock, Lenny Kravitz and Alicia Keys.

Also joining the production team is singer Ne-Yo who will be producing music alongside Timbaland (who also produced the soundtrack for Season 1).

Season 1 of the show boasted guest appearances from the likes of Naomi Campbell, Gladys Knight, Jennifer Hudson, Rita Ora, Mary J. Blige, Estelle, Snoop Dogg, Patti LaBelle, Courtney Love, Raven-Symone, Juicy J, Anthony Hamilton, Charles Hamilton, Sway Calloway, Tasha Smith and Cuba Gooding, Jr.

Nevertheless the shows main attraction were it’s lead characters Lucious Lyon and Cookie Lyon played by Academy Award-nominees Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson.

It’s supporting casts includes Trai Byers, Jussie Smollett, Bryshere Y. Gray, Grace Gealey, Malik Yoba, Kaitlin Doubleday, Ta’Ronda Jones and Gabourey Sidibe.

While its always cool to see high-profile guests stars, hopefully this format doesn’t overshadow the main plot and characters of the programme. Also they need to be careful in not overexposing guests stars as the format will become less special and unique in later seasons.

Season 2 is scheduled to have 18 episodes which is five more from the 12 in Season 1. The season will be split into two-parts with one airing this fall and the other in Spring 2016.
