New Single: Janet Jackson ‘No Sleeep’ [Listen]
The time has come ladies and gentleman!
Today Janet Jackson has officially unveiled her brand new single ‘No Sleeep‘ for the world to hear.
The song sees Janet return to her R&B roots and is reminiscent of the sound heard on her 1997 classic album ‘The Velvet Rope‘.
A snippet of the song had previously been heard on her video announcement announcing her comeback just a couple of weeks ago.
Upon premiering the single, Janet’s official website wrote the following,
‘No Sleeep is a collaboration between Janet Jackson and the legendary songwriting and production duo Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, with whom Ms. Jackson first teamed up with in 1986. Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis have collaborated with Ms. Jackson on a number of her biggest hits, including a staggering nine Billboard Hot 100 number ones. The new single is the first taste of Janet Jackson’s upcoming, as yet untitled new album, due this Fall’.
According to the press release ‘No Sleeep‘ serves as her first official new release in seven years, however her last single ‘Nothing‘ was featured on the soundtrack for her movie ‘Why Did I Get Married Too?‘ in 2010.
As previously posted Janet will hit the road in late August with her ‘Unbreakable World Tour‘, with an album scheduled to be released this fall.
